Get METARs and TAFs, NEXRAD weather, TFRs, and even Digital ATIS (dATIS incurs a per-use charge).

plan your flights and file your flightplans

Going somewhere? Find the best airport to fly to using our amazing Google Maps-based Airport Finder! With this incredibly useful tool, you can find airports by name, or you can enter in a geographic location to find the closest airport to your final destination. Heading to a business meeting? Just enter in the street address of the meeting, and the system will automatically find the closest airports to that address that meet your criteria - you can even specfiy minimum runway length.

To view the details on any of the airports, select it from the list, and up pops a complete listing of the airports runways, frequencies, current weather, IFR approach plates, and FBO listings - complete with a map locating the FBO or business right on the airfield! You can even get a list of hotels in the area and optionally reserve a room right online! When you find the airport you like, you can click one of the buttons at the top to select it as either your destination or starting airport.

creating flight plans

Creating a flight plan is easy! If you chose an airport or airport pair using the method above, these values will automatically be filled in when you go to create a flight plan - otherwise, just enter the airport pairs into the form, hit the "tab" key (or click Update Map) and the map updates with the current weather between the two airfields, as well as showing current METARs and the distance between the airports.

fill in the flight details

Once you've picked your airports, enter in the rest of the details of the flight - standard flight plan information. When you're done, give the flight plan a description and save it to be filed later, or save it and file it right away! You can even get set up to receive an email or cell phone alert with the flight plan route as assigned by ATC - get an idea in advance as to where they'll be sending you!

tie it in with our automatic logbook!

With an optional subscription to fboweb.com's Online Pilots Logbook, users who create and file their flight plans through the site can also have their logbook entries generated from them automatically! For more details, click to read more on our Automatic Pilots Logbook!
